Большая часть школы находилась под одной крышей и связывалась (помещения которой связывались) длинными коридорами и центральным большим залом.

имхо-приимхо, но контекст: ночь, лес, гроза. К тому же, наблюдать изменения цвета лица некому (кроме медведя
)... Тут скорее ощущения...

Ужас можно испытывать лишь какое-то время, слишком много сил на него уходит. Через какое-то время организм оттолкнет его прочь и сосредоточится на обыденных вещах....
